Requirements for a Working visa – Long-stay visa (more than 90 days)
The applications for a long-stay visa are submitted in Switzerland for authorisation. The processing time is between 8 and 12 weeks. The applications have therefore to be presented on time, in original together with 3 photocopies:
- 3 visa application forms ("National visa application form" type D), duly completed, dated and signed. They are free of charge and can be collected at the counter or downloaded (s. link on the right hand-side). In case of minors, both parents have to sign the visa application form;
- 3 recent, colour, good quality passport-size photographs;
- duly signed biometric passport, valid for at least three months beyond the planned stay in the Schengen room and with at least two empty pages (For Liberia, the old passport can be accepted);
- Visa and postage fees (please refer to the web page «Entering Switzerland»);
- 3 photocopy of the passport (pages with the personal data and copies of any previous visa);
- For foreigners: 3 photocopies of the residence permit in the country of residence valid for at least three months beyond the planned stay in the Schengen room;
- Last 3 months salary slips;
- Swiss working contract or promise of Swiss working contract e-mailed or faxed directly to the Embassy in Abidjan;
- Indication of the complete residence address in Switzerland;
- Title deeds or copy of lease agreements;
- Recent water or electricity invoice, in the name of the applicant;
- Documents confirming the family situation of the applicant (marriage certificate, birth certificate, family certificate, etc.);
The Swiss authorities may request further documentation or guarantees.
