Due to the American economical sanctions against the Government of Sudan and the American lobby group to implement them eagerly, Swiss companies got under pressure and are therefore reluctant to initiate business with the Sudan. Some even have interrupted ties due to these pressures.

Nonetheless some Swiss companies have their representative in Khartoum (mostly a Sudanese citizen) who is importing and selling Swiss products.

This Embassy is aware of the potential of the Sudanese market and the possibilities of doing business in the country and is also confident that Swiss companies will enter into this promising market as soon as the sanctions are lifted and the political situation has become more stable.
