The cultural affairs section promotes cultural exchange between Switzerland and Hong Kong/Macau. It helps connect Swiss artists in a variety of fields such as music, dance, drama or photography with useful contacts in this part of the world.

Regularly the cultural affairs section organizes or co-hosts various events and exhibitions with a Swiss interest and works closely with organisations such as the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.

Tûranor – PlanetSolar : The first solar boat expedition around the world was visiting Hong Kong in August. Flagged under Switzerland, it is the biggest 100% solar-powered boat – 30 meters long, 15 meters wideand weighing 95 tons. The ship was berthed at Ocean Terminal where a Solar Village exhibition gave in interesting insight into the subject of clean energy.
A series of environmental conservation programs, co hosted by the Consulate General of Switzerland and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology were held during the exhibition.
