Medical care in the major cities in China is developing rapidly and is generally sufficient. Health care is provided in public and private institutions. The offers differ in infrastructure, availability of English speaking staff, price, etc. The Consulate can provide you with contacts and more specific information if needed.

We are in contact with health authorities in China and Switzerland as well as with regional doctors. Together we follow the developments regarding new health hazards and provide updated information.

Currently, there are no health hazards in Shanghai.
