Conditions
- The applicant must hold a national passport valid for at least 3 months after the intended visit to Switzerland
- Visas can only be granted to persons holding a valid Indonesian residence permit
Documents to be Submitted
- 1 application form duly completed and signed by the applicant
- 1 passport photograph (undamaged and of recent date)
- 1 valid national passport and photocopy of passport
- Travel ticket to and from Switzerland (see "provisions")
- Proof of international travel insurance coverage. Insurance company must be based or have a branch office in either Switzerland, Liechtenstein, EU or EFTA
- Foreigners who are invited by a Swiss citizen or resident of Switzerland to spend some time there have to complete the visa application form as well as a declaration of garantee (see below)
Provisions
- If some of the conditions are not fulfilled or for other reasons, applications may be submitted to the Swiss authorities for approval. In such cases, it will take 4-6 weeks to receive a relevant decision by the Embassy
- The Embassy cannot be held responsable for costs involved when a visa is not granted
- Please note that a flight ticket should only be arranged once the confirmed declaration of guarantee has arrived at the Embassy
Declaration of Guarantee
A visa to visit a person living in Switzerland can only be obtained with a letter of guarantee, which is issued by the Embassy. As a precondition, complete data of applicant and invitation letter from the sponsor in Switzerland are required. The visa fee has to be paid in advance (cash or weselpos).

Once the visa applicant has received a declaration of guarantee from this Embassy, following steps are to be followed:
- Part 1 has to be filled in by the invited person (guest) who sends this form directly to the guarantor (host) in Switzerland.
- Part 2 has to be filled in an signed by the guarantor (host) in Switzerland who submits the form to the authority of his/her place of domicile.
- The Municipal or Cantonal authority in charge will complete part 3 and forward the form to the competent Migration Office for notification to this Embassy.
