  • Press Release: Switzerland to open 10 regional Visa Application Centres across India (113 Kb, pdf)
    March 01, 2012: Switzerland and VFS Global have partnered to open branches of Swiss Visa Application Centres (VACs) in 10 cities across India, in addition to the existing VACs in New Delhi and Mumbai. Residents of Chandigarh, Kolkata, Jalandhar, Cochin, Chennai, Pondicherry, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune and Hyderabad will soon be able to avail of the services of satellite Visa Application Centres in their cities while applying for visa to travel to Switzerland. The partnership will be established as a pilot project and is limited to two years.

  • India and Switzerland Sign MOU for Mutual Cooperation on Local Governance (38 Kb, pdf)
    Swiss Ambassador Mr. Philippe Welti and Ms. Kiran Dhingra, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of Republic of India signed a MoU for mutual cooperation on local governance on 12th December 2011. The MoU aims at establishing projects to encourage transference of competence between India and Switzerland for strengthening local self-governance, focusing on areas relating to e-governance, local governments performance appraisal, public service delivery through local bodies, solution sharing and mobilization of resources.
     
  • India and Switzerland Sign MoU for a Joint Project on Building Energy Efficiency in India (36 Kb, pdf)
    Swiss Ambassador Mr. Philippe Welti and Mr. Devinder Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India signed an MoU for a joint project on building energy efficiency in India, in the presence of Mr. P Umashanker, Secretary, Ministry of Power at Delhi on November 08, 2011. The MoU which is for a period of 5 years, aims at reducing energy consumption in new buildings in India. The specific objective of the initiative is to build capacities and knowledge of builders, architects, engineers, labs, institutions and others, in the area of building energy efficiency in India by utilizing Swiss experience and expertise, and by following a multi-stakeholders cooperation process.
