Swiss citizens who intend to reside abroad for more than 12 months or who have acquired Swiss citizenship through birth, reinstatement, naturalization or adoption and already reside in a consular district will be entered in the database for Swiss abroad. The entry provides information for processing official documents for Swiss abroad (i.e. passports, civil status documents, consular protection, etc.). The personal data will be used by this representation in accordance with Art. 4 of the Federal Law on the Processing of Personal Data in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and Art. 11 of the Swiss Diplomatic and Consular Service Regulations.
