The Embassy of Switzerland in Astana, functioning since 2009, has been established with the objective of promoting bilateral relations between the Swiss and the Kazakh Governments as well as between all sectors of both countries, including the business and cultural communities and the civil societies in general. In these first years of operation the Embassy has succeeded in developing full diplomatic and consular services and in easing the visa procedures for the Almaty residents through cooperation with France. It also represents the Swiss interests in Tajikistan and aims at promoting the political and economic ties between these two countries.

Our website is a virtual bridge between Switzerland and Kazakhstan. You will find here useful links with information about Switzerland and regularly updated information regarding visa requirements for Kazakh and Tajik citizens. Please note that Switzerland has joined the Schengen area in December 2008, and is since then issuing Schengen visas.
