Welcome Message

Dear Visitors,
I wish you a warm welcome to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Seoul.
Switzerland and the Republic of Korea have enjoyed excellent and friendly relations since the very first days of the establishment of diplomatic relations in December 1962. Their geographic distance notwithstanding, the two countries have developed strong political, economic, scientific and cultural ties:
Most notably, as a member of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission (NNSC), Switzerland has, since the end of the Korean War in 1953, been deploying its efforts in support of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.
A free-trade agreement between the European Free Trade Area (EFTA) – of which Switzerland is a member state – and the Republic of Korea has been in force since 2006. The new Swiss Business Hub Korea, inaugurated within the premises of the Embassy in November 2010, will further contribute to the promotion of Swiss exports to Korea.
Cooperation in the field of science and research is also growing in importance, not least because of the conclusion of the Swiss-Korean Agreement on Science and Technology in 2008.
This website is designed to help you obtain information about all the fields of cooperation between Switzerland and Korea as well as on the activities of the Embassy. Moreover, it contains information about travelling to Switzerland (visa requirements, tourism, studying) and to Korea. Finally, a rich choice of web links is given about Swiss authorities, media and culture.
I wish you a pleasant exploration of the site. For any further information, please contact us at:
