    Registration

    You have taken up residence in our consular district. We would therefore like to welcome you.

    The following persons are asked to register with the Embassy of Switzerland in Manila :

    • Swiss citizens who intend to stay in the consular district for more than 12 months and who have de-registered in Switzerland;
    • Swiss citizens who acquire Swiss nationality by birth, naturalisation or adoption and who are already living in the consular district.

    Regular contact between the Swiss abroad and the Swiss Embassies and Consulates presents mutual advantages. The registry is intended to give an overall picture of Swiss nationals living in the consular district. Registration, which is mandatory, also provides the details required for the fulfilment of official functions, such as issuing new passports, registering births, marriages etc.

    In order to be registered, the following documents are needed:

    • The form "Application for registration", completed, dated and signed by you
    • Your Swiss passport in original and, if applicable, those of your family members
    • Your certificate of origin (Heimatschein)

    If you are registered with a Swiss representation, you should inform the representation about the following changes:

    • Change of address/telephone number/fax number/e-mail address
    • Change in civil status (marriage, divorce, death and birth of children)
    • Acquisition or loss of any additional citizenship
    • Departure from the consular district

    When a Swiss national moves away from a consular district, the Embassy should be informed without delay and be told of the new address, if possible in writing.

    When a person moves to another foreign country, the new competent Embassy or Consulate will be informed through us in order to facilitate the registration procedure in the new country.
