Temporary closure of the Visa-Section to the public
As of 12.02.2012 the operations of the Visa Section at the Swiss Embassy in Damascus are temporarily suspended and no new visa applications will be accepted. Applicants in Syria will need to apply for a visa at the Swiss Embassies in Amman (Jordan) or Beirut (Lebanon).
Exceptions are services to the families of Swiss citizens living in Syria and to diplomats who can ask for a visa until 23.02.2012.
Applications received in Damascus until 09.02.2012 will be processed in Damascus as normal, and the Visa Section in Damascus will remain open for the collection of those applications once processed. Applicants will be contacted when their documents are ready to collect.

Syrians are required to hold a valid visa to enter Switzerland. Applications for visa have to be submitted to the Embassy of Switzerland in Beirut or Amman during the public opening hours. Visa applicants have to present the documentation personally.

Application forms can be obtained the above mentioned representations or you can download it here. Please follow the indicated instructions on the downloaded version. Nevertheless, you have to print it as it needs to be signed in original by the applicant.
You will find the visa requirements and documentation in the information sheet “Visa Requirements” (see right "Downloads" - available in English, French and German) that you have to submit if the intention of your travel is:
- business
- visit of family and/or friends
