Aux dates indiquées, pour la première fois, il y aura une possibilité de saisie de données biométriques grâce à une station mobile installée dans les locaux de l’Ambassade de Suisse à Bruxelles. Nos concitoyennes et concitoyens ont été informés à ce sujet par l’envoi électronique de la lettre figurant ci-dessous. Les possibilités de rendez-vous ont néanmoins entretemps été déjà entièrement épuisées, il ne sera donc plus possible d’accepter des demandes supplémentaires. Il est par contre prévu de réaliser une deuxième opération de ce genre, à une date encore à déterminer dans le courant du quatrième trimestre de l’année 2012. Une communication y relative paraîtra en temps utile sur notre site Internet.

Zum ersten Mal wird an den besagten Daten eine Erfassung von biometrischen Daten in den Räumlichkeiten der Botschaft in Brüssel mittels einer mobilen Erfassungsstation durchgeführt. Unsere MitbürgerInnen wurden mittels in beiliegendem Link ersichtlichem, in elektronischer Form versandtem Schreiben über diese Möglichkeit informiert. Die verfügbaren Termine sind inzwischen bereits vollständig ausgebucht, es können keine zusätzlichen Antragsteller mehr berücksichtigt werden. Es ist jedoch geplant, im vierten Quartal dieses Jahres, an einem noch festzulegenden Datum, eine zweite ausserordentliche Aktion in ähnlicher Form durchzuführen. Eine entsprechende Mitteilung wird zu gegebenem Zeitpunkt auf diesem Website erscheinen.

Since 16th May 2011, the consular services of this embassy have been transferred to the Benelux Regional Center for Consular Affairs at The Hague: 

• Inscription / announcement of departure at the Swiss representation
• Applications for passports and identity cards

The purpose of relocating the consular services to the regional consular centres is to ensure the high quality and efficiency of our service and that it is adapted to meet the needs of Swiss citizens living or on temporary stays abroad.

The reorganisation takes into account that nowadays most consular matters can be dealt with by post or e-mail. An increasing number of Swiss citizens communicate with the representations in this way. Only a few matters, such as recording biometric data for identity documents, require the applicant to be present in person.

The relocation of consular services will be combined with the following services:

• Creation of a helpline that is operational 365 days a year, 24 hours a day as of 1 May 2012.

• Possibility to record biometric data for identity documents at each representation (embassy) including the regional consular centres (identity papers themselves have to be applied for at an representation, that offers consular services)
• In the context of events abroad bringing together a large number of the Swiss community, possibility to use mobile devices to record biometric data
• Co-operation with other member states of the Schengen area on visa matters
