NovaChannel AG

The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) has received repeated complaints from foreign people regarding the lack of transparency in forms offering to register in business directories. One of the companies concerned, NovaChannel AG, used misleading forms. The victims believed to obtain an offer free of charge but in reality they concluded a costly contract for at least 3 years.
The SECO, on behalf of the Swiss Confederation, initiated a criminal procedure (2005) and filed a civil suit (2006) versus NovaChannel AG for violation of the Swiss law on unfair competition. On 1 October 2009 the Swiss Federal Supreme Court ruled as the court of last instance in the favour of SECO. Please find below the link to the website of the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC) where SECO has published the judgment.
