Registration with the competent Swiss diplomatic or consular representation is mandatory for Swiss citizens who intend to stay abroad for more than 12 months at a time. We would of course be happy to hear from you as well if you stay less than 12 months.

If you are registered with us we can help you more easily should there be anything you need. You also have the possibility to vote in Switzerland and you will receive the “Swiss Revue”. This publication of the Swiss authorities contains useful information for Swiss living abroad.

The necessary form to register with us you will find below. Please return it to us together with your passport and/or your Identity Card. If you are unable to download this form you may contact us or pay us a visit.

Once you are registered you should keep us up-to-date on the following information:

• change of address, telephone number and/or e-mail address
• departure from Bosnia and Herzegovina
• change in civil status
• acquisition or loss of any additional citizenship

Swiss citizens under the age of 42 (52 for officers) are requested to present their military leave of absence (Auslandurlaub/Congé pour l’étranger/Congedo per l’estero) at our office.
