Residents in Northern California are requested to appear in person. No appointment is required. 
Applicants from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming can apply by mail. 

Payment options
Cash and all major credit cards accepted for persons who appear in person. If you apply by mail, fees have to be paid by money order or cashier's check issued to "Consulate General of Switzerland". No personal checks accepted.
