Science, Technology and Education Office
The Embassy of Switzerland in Canberra now has a Science, Technology and Education Office. The office is headed by Christian Elias Schneider, who is part of the overseas network of Science and Technology Counselors, attached to the Swiss
State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER). The SER now has a network of 23 scientific advisers working in 19 different countries. The main tasks and activities of the Swiss Science, Technology and Education Office are bringing together excellent researchers and fostering the bilateral Swiss-Australian relationship in research through connections with Australian government agencies and Australian institutes of higher education. In addition, the Office is in charge of promoting the excellent Swiss scientific and educational landscape in Australia.
