Swiss with the OSCE
In addition to the official Delegation representing Switzerland’s interests, there are a number of individual Swiss in the service of OSCE. These are experts deployed to take charge of key functions, whether in the Secretariat, in decentralised institutions such as the ODIHR in Warsaw or in one of the many field missions. They include persons directly employed by the OSCE under contract, and experts seconded and paid by Switzerland, as well as diplomats.

"Since August 2010 I have been project leader for an OSCE initiative in support of the Kyrgyz police, notably with regard to community police work, respect for human rights and policing in a multi-ethnic context. At present this involves the collaboration of 23 international police consultants from a dozen OSCE Participating States, supported by 16 local employees. The focus of the project is in the south of the country. The aim is to restore a minimum of trust between police and citizens after the outbreak of violence of June 2010."

"The OSCE’s Junior Professional Officer Programme is a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of intergovernmental relations. It provides suitably qualified young people with an introduction to the international labour field. My experience with the OSCE inspires me to continue to focus on the human dimension."
