Legitimation card of the FDFA
The Swiss Mission published on 1st April 1987 directives on the admission conditions to Switzerland and the recruitement of members of permanent missions and international civil servants and the delivery to these persons of a legitimation card (residence/working autorisation of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs - FDFA). The permanent missions and international organisations received these directives.
Definition
Via the Swiss Mission, the members of personnel of the international organisations based in Switzerland and of the permanent missions based in Geneva receive a legitimation card of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
These persons do not receive a residence/working permit under the Swiss ordinary law. A legitimation card entitles the holder to live in and to come to Switzerland (without visa).
The directives of 1st April 1987 of the Swiss Mission contain all useful information about the procedures and conditions related to the delivery of a legitimation card.
